10 Most Expensive Homes Sold In Dallas Fort Worth 2014

The 2014 North Texas real estate market continued to see an upswing in prices and number of properties sold. Prices began to rise and more consumers were finally making the decision to buy or sell. This trend was also seen in our luxury home market. As the new year begins I thought it would be fun to share what the 10 most expensive homes sold were in 2014. 

Below is a list of the 10 most expensive residential homes that sold according to the MetroTex Association of REALTORS┬«. This list does not include commercial property or vacant land: 

10. 10240 Strait Ln Dallas 75229-6532 SP: $6,600,000 

This property features lines of pecan and oak trees on a little more than 3 acres backing up to Bachman Creek. It was sold on one of Dallas' most renowned streets at lot value only and it still made the top 10!It was listed and sold by Curtis Parker of Round Realty. 

 9. 10300 Strait Ln Dallas 75229-6534 SP: $6,750,000 

This Modern home designed by Bud Ogelsby, is a private estate featuring views of the creek lined grounds, wide galleries connecting 3 main wings surrounding a central courtyard and a master sitting room with fireplace views the pond.It was listed and sold by Susan Marcus of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's Int'l. 

 8. 3619 Crescent AVE Highland Park 75205-3910 SP: $6,850,000 

This Richardsonian Romanesque better known as Coram Deo, is a granite home completed in 2005 that offers lots of natural light as well as design and amenities of the 21st century but with the form & charm of a late 1800s home. It was listed by Ellen Terry & Todd Terry of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's Int'l and sold by Mansur Lalji of RE/MAX Premier. 

 7. 4610 Wildwood Rd Dallas 75209-1928 SP: $6,997,375 

This Contemporary Custom home features a 14 ft. ceiling in the great room, 5000 volume library, Gasgone marble & white oak floors, walls of glass looking to the saltwater infinity pool, outdoor terrace, putting green and a cabana.It was listed by Erin Mathews of Allie Beth Allman & Assoc. and sold by Minnette Murray of Minnette Murray Properties.

This French Chateau Estate situated on 10.4 acres overlooking Lake Grapevine features include imported stone, Venetian plaster, top of the line appliances & custom wood work throughout. It also has a guest house, a carriage house and 3 stall barn.It was listed by Troy George & Lucy Noonan and sold by Christy Berry, all of Synergy Realty. 

5. 3517 Lexington Ave Highland Park 75205 SP: $7,600,000 

This French Style home features solid limestone facade, a formal dinning that overlooks west gardens, 5 fireplaces, a library, wine grotto, a catering kitchen and its own generator.It was listed by Ralph Randall of Dave Perry-Miller & Associates and sold by Christy Berry of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's Int'l .

4. 10660 Strait Ln Dallas 75229-5425 SP: $8,240,000 

This Contemporary Estate features private lake views with fountains & waterfalls flowing down to a creek, a jogging trail, tennis court, and resort-like pool. It was listed and sold by Doris Jacobs of Allie Beth Allman & Assoc. 

3. 12780 Hilltop Rd Argyle 76226-4311 SP: $9,850,000 

This European Equestrian Estate features a saltwater pool, a 3 bedroom guest home and a manager's home. The 50 acres property also has a Kiser riding arena, 20 acre hay pasture, stocked lakes, professional Zip Line, a tree house and trolley car. It was listed by Marilyn Hoffman of Hoffman Int'l., Properties and sold by Todd Terry of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's Int'l. 

2. 10245 Strait Ln Dallas 75229-6533 SP: $10,500,000 

This home features a full basement with a theater, fitness room, wet bar, wine cellar, den and exits to a sunken courtyard with a covered sitting area. A water feature that flows from a pool and spa above. Including sunken cover verandas and garages, this home has 19,184 square feet under roof.It was listed by Grady Yates of Sharif & Munir Ventures and sold by Julie Pillans of Ebby Halliday 

1. 4644 Park Ln Dallas 75220-2025 SP: $18,360,000 

The most expensive home sold in 2014 is this Georgian Mansion that was built in the 1930s, featuring 10,000 sq ft, 7 fireplaces, a library, a sun room, an entry with grand staircase and an elevator shaft to the upstairs master dressing room. It was listed by Stephanie Ziemann of Connect Realty DFW and sold by Claire Dewar of Briggs Freeman Sotheby's Int'l.

So what does this mean for 2015? Personally I think we will continue to see this trend continue of more luxury properties selling this year.   This year has started off faster than any other in the past 8 years with a 300% increase in real estate inquiries.I think one thing that will help push to make our luxury market even stronger is the great values on property here compared to other parts of the country.
