Traffic permitting you can buzz to downtown FORT WORTH in let's say, less than 30 minutes. There is so much to do 30 minutes from KELLER that you will have to come back for more day out ideas.
Get started rather early one Saturday soon.
1. Breakfast AT YOLK
This is a downtown Fort Worth breakfast hot-spot that serves up, not only delicious, but also unique dishes. Red Velvet or Cinnamon French Toast anyone? The Strawberry OJ is simply delicious. Downtown parking is not so bad with valet or on a weekend outing.
2. KIMBALL ART MUSEUM
Incredible architecture, art, and a cafe make this a great stop on your day out. Tickets for adults are $14.
3333 Camp Bowie Boulevard
Fort Worth, Texas 76107-2792
3. Lunch at Woodshed Smokehouse on their patio overlooking the trinity. This is the Wood fired food Texas experience.
You are not all the hungry after a huge breakfast but you should sample the interesting sandwiches, tacos, and so much more. Tons of Craft Beer too. My favorites are the crispy potatoes served with smoked garlic aioli paired with the butcher's sandwich - chopped brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. If you have 4 people there are platters of family-style entrees. For $88 you get the Texas Trinity: sausage of the day, pork ribs, beef brisket, sweet & spicy pickles, potato salad & borracho beans, and finally camp bread. No shame in taking it home for the next day's munching.
Music is often out on the patio on the weekends.
4. Walk it off at Trinity River Trails. With miles of trails, you'll easily walk off your breakfast and lunch. Multiple areas to park and walk.
Alternative to outdoors if the weather turns or heats up, is the Montgomery Street Antique Mall. You can browse and reminisce for hours in this place. http://www.montgomerystreetantiques.com/
After 5:00 p.m.
5. You are pretty beat by now, so head home or catch a relaxing
Movie at the Keller Moviehouse and Eatery. Reclining chairs and popcorn for dinner is exactly what you need right now. Buy your tickets early though, for the best seats and to set you goal to get back to Keller. https://sites.themoviehouse.com/keller/
